Horak: “It is a matter of attitude”

Ivan Pesic

One day prior to the third-place match of the SEHA- Gazprom League Final 4 in Skopje between Meshkov Brest and Celje PL (Sunday, 15 of April 17:45 CET), players and coaches of both sides gave their statements on the Media Day in Sports centre Jane Sandanski on Saturday morning:

Branko Tamse, Celje PL coach:
Compared to our semi-final defeat against Zagreb, we have to play more aggressive in defence, in attack we need more goals from the wing positions and counter attacks. But like in all matches, the defence will be the key. We expect a tough match against a physical strong team.

Borut Mackovsek, Celje PL player:
Against Zagreb, we made too many mistakes, mainly in defence. When we were close to turn the match, the time was ticking against us. We have to forget the semi-final now and focus on Brest. We want to show out fans, who accompanied us here, that we did not come to Skopje to lose twice. Maybe we have to be more relaxed than against Zagreb.

Daniel Dujshebaev, Celje PL player:
We definitely did not show the best we can against Zagreb, but we are sure that we can beat Brest now. We know them very well, and we have to be motivated and focused for our last match of this SEHA – Gazprom League season.

Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov Brest coach:
It is not hard to motivate my players for this match, as they are always motivated. We will prepare mainly on the tactical aspects for this match. The chances are 50:50 for both sides.

Maksim Baranau, Meshkov Brest player:
We need to recover from the defeat against Vardar quickly, mainly from the emotional and mental point of view. We will prepare intensely, as we expect a tough game against a team, we have great respect for. If we give 100 percent or even more, we can win, anything else will be too less. So we have to be 100 percent ready.

Pavel Horak, Meshkov Brest player:
Though it is not the final, but “only” the third-place-game we are eager to win of course. Due to our personal situation with many key players injured, we are hit hard, but we have won most of the matches against Celje in this season, which might be our psychological advantage. The teams, which cause less mistakes, will win. In the end, it is all a matter of the right attitude.
