SEHA GSS national teams before the EC in Denmark

 

Five out of seven SEHA GSS league's national teams will participate in the upcoming EHF's EC in Denmark. Those are: Croatia, Belarus, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro. Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovakia are out but are part of qualifications for WC in Qatar. Last week was reserved for final preparations.

Croatia has, in Umag, hosted Tunisia twice and managed to win the both games, 31:24 and 24:20. Four CO Zagreb's players were in action, Ivic, Mandalinic, Horvat and J. Valcic. Croatia will in Denmark try to defend bronze medal from the last EC in Serbia where Horvat was also member of the national team and who was the most efficient player in two matches against Tunisia.

Belarus was active even before the New Year. They have managed to win the traditional Yellow Cup in Swiss Winterthur. They have beaten Russia 30:29, Egypt 29:26 and were defeated by the hosts Switzerland 25:31. After that they have participated on a tournament in Hungary, in Gyöngyös. They were last in the end but with a very interesting win over Poland 29:28. Hungary (28:31) and Czech Republic (30:32) were stronger. Three Meshkov's players were in action, goalkeeper Charapenka, Baranu and Shumak.

Skopje hosted three SEHA GSS teams. Winner was Serbia which was better than both, Macedonia (30:28) with Stanic's 9 saves, and Montenegro (32:25) with Tatran Pejovic's 5 goals. Macedonia was in the end better than Montenegro (33:27) with 4 Manaskov's goals.

Croatia, Belarus and Montenegro will play in group D on the upcoming EC, in Copenhagen with Sweden and Serbia is in group C in Aarhus with France, Poland and Russia. Macedonia is in group A in Herning with Denamrk, Austria and Czech Republic.
