Meshkov Brest - Maks Strumica

Meshkov were in this match clear favorites and it was visible through all 60 minutes with Belarus champions celebrating dominant 39:20 victory, their eighth this season. Guests have arrived in Brest with rejuvenated squad and new coach which apparently did not help them much against favored host.

This victory brings Meshkov a step closer to F4. After 12 matches they are fifth and Maks remain bottom placed with only 2 points.

Winner was decided after less than 10 minutes with scoreboard already saying 10:1. Hosts did not experience any troubles keeping the gap above +10 through first 30 with coach Bebeshko having a chance to rotate his squad as much as possible. Only Arsiom Selvasiuk missed to put his name on the score list for home-team. This was however only preparation for Meshkov ahead of road tour through Prešov, Našice and Banja Luka in next 7 days.

Meshkov’s Dzimitry Kamyshik played one of his best matches this season scoring 10 goals from 12 attempts and Milan Levov on the other side shined in his debut for Maks Strumica, scoring 8 goals from 12 attempts along with Mirko Majić who netted seven goals.

Congratulations to Brest and their coach Sergey Bebeshko. Home-team’ players were playing much better through the whole game. We were doing best we can to fight but this was, unfortunately for us as far as we could go.

We came here with many young players and with a goal for our youngsters to play best they can and gain experience playing against such a team.

The team did not spend much time together during last 2 months and that’s why this match was so important for us. I believe there is still much room for progress and I hope upcoming SEHA Gazprom League’s games will help us get where we want to be. We were simply stronger than our opponents today playing in good mood and fulfilling task we’ve agreed on before the match. It's important that there are no injured players.
