FINAL 4: Semi-final I Veszprem – Meshkov Brest Last season final rewind

Meshkov

First semi-final will be the clash of the current SEHA Gazprom League title holders and Hungarian champions MVM Veszprem and Belarus champions Meshkov. For Veszprem second appearance on League's final tournament, for Meshkov on the other hand fourth.

In all of their five encounters in past two seasons Hungarians were able to come up on top. This season Veszprem are entering F4 stage with No.1 after the regular part of the season and Meshkov have position four.

Both clubs have also managed to reach Champions League eighth-finals stage with MVM Veszprem reaching quarter-finals after a triumph over Motor Zaporozhye. Meshkov were on the other side stopped by Polish Kielce.

Javier Sabate, MVM Veszprem coach:

This is a tournament of four great teams and fans will surely be happy with what they are about to see. You need to perform really good to take the crown. We will try to defend the title which brings additional pressure but it won't be our first time to do such thing and we can cope with that. Meshkov are in good form and what we're about to see is a good match in which anything can happen.

Renato Sulić, MVM Veszprem player:

Tough semi-final match. Meshkov have against Kielce proved how muc they can. It will be a different match than our past clashes. Help we get from our fans who will come from Veszprem is always a good thing for us battling on court. Our goal to defend the title in my opinion says wuite enough of our ambitions here.

Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov coach:

Reaching F4 is success for us already. Veszprem have throughout the season proved to play best handball in the League. I'd rather like to face off against PPD zagreb or Vardar in semis but we have what we have. They are one of Europe's best teams at tht moment. For us it will be a big experience and I hope we'll be able to keep the match narrow and that way look for our chance to catch final. Atman is injured and we'll have to figure things out without him here in Varaždin.

Ljubo Vukić, Meshkov player:

I expect us to play a good competitive match against Veszprem which is favored side not only in this match and SEHA league but also in Champions League. We'll do our best to surprise them. It is hard to say anthing else...
