Sebetic: Win against Metalurg to make the atmosphere better before Meshkov

Šebetić: Pobjedom protiv Metalurga dižemo atmosferu pred Meškov

PPD Zagreb

After this season’s third Champions League loss, PPD Zagreb will on Tuesday (18.00 CET) look to catch new SEHA victory of the season. Metalurg is coming to visit in a match which surely won’t be easy but Lions are so far this season playing well in SEHA Gazprom League, especially on home court, and they will have favorite role in this one. They are not in good shape, many things are not functioning well and it is sure that coach Vujovic will through quality SEHA challenges look to raise Zagreb’s form to a level on which it was last season. After four rounds Zagreb has three wins and a loss.

Metalurg has on the other side so far managed to not only meet expectations but even go higher. Although they after five rounds have only one win, a draw and three losses, Lino Cervar’s guys are proving that they can play a competitive match against much better sides and that no one will take points easily in duels against them.

Veselin Vujovic, PPD Zagreb coach:
I found loss against Kristianstad quite tough to handle with, the team is not in a good shape. However, I believe we will soon find a way to make things function the way they can and should. As of Metalurg, they have already proved this season to be a tough team. Lino Cervar has his ways and it is sure they will be a strong opponent. We'll try to rest some players ahead of amazingly important duel against Meshkov on Saturday. Miklavcic still has problems with his knee, Tonci Valcic is dealing with minor back injury and Cingesar has problems with his wrist but they are all training and are aware that we're in a situation in which we all have to deliver our best in order to escape the situation we're in.

Luka Sebetic, PPD Zagreb player:
I'm coming back after a quite long break and it is not easy as I am eager to help my team as much as possible. We're in an unpleasant situation after these losses and our goal is to make the atmosphere better ahead of duel against Meshkov with a solid performance and a victory against Metalurg.

Lino Cervar, Metalurg coach:
Away match in Zagreb will be an exciting experience for us. We are aware that our opponent is down after a loss against Kristianstad in Champions League and it is sure they'll look for redemption in front of their fans which won't make things easier for us. Our goal is to play a good season, deliver good performance in each match and play fully focused each time we step on court. We'll see if that will be enough for a positive result against Zagreb.

Marko Neloski, Metalurg player:
We respect Zagreb, it is always great pleasure to play them. My memories of our previous encounters are not quite thrilling which makes me eager to step on the court and play the best I can. Hosts are favorites but our job is to do everything we know and can to surprise them.
