Meshkov look to continue winning series, Celje to catch TOP 4

БГК надеется на продолжение победной серии, «Целе» - на попадание в ТОП-4

Vardar - Meshkov Brest

Meshkov Brest and Celje PL will this season meet at least four times. Their first encounter is scheduled for Wednesday (18.00 CET) in Brest.
Hosts have 10 points from 5 matches so far this season which puts them on third place of League's table. Slovenians are fifth at the moment and knowing that F4 tournament is their goal they will surely do everything to climb at least one place up.
Teams are also rivals in EHF Champions League group B. In the last round Meshkov has managed to stun Rhein Neckar Löwen at home and Celje PL was on the other side defeated by Vardar. In upcoming rounds Belarusian champions will play in Skopje versus Metalurg and in Zagreb. Month ahead of us will be tough for Celje as well as they will play two CL away games - against Kielce and Kristianstad.

Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov coach:
Another tough game, this time versus Celje shortly after the clash against Löwen. One of Celje's aims is to get to SEHA Final. We also are ambitious in this League so the game will be interesting. We have more games against Celje waiting for us this season as we are also rivals in EHF Champions League's group. We hope to win this home game despite of the fact that it won't be easy.

Ivan Pesic, Meshkov player:
We want to keep the good atmosphere before important game in Zagreb. It will not be easy to win against Slovenian champions. We must show our best handball performance and hope we will succeed.

Branko Tamse, Celje PL coach:
We have a six-day tour ahead of us, which is a new challenge for our club. A game against Meshkov will be very hard since they are a really good team with excellent individuals. They are dangerous from every position in attack with various palettes of shots that you have to be careful about. Defensively they are strong, with fast transition and counter-attacks. I expect a difficult match but of course we are travelling there wishing to secure some points.

Vid Poteko, Celje PL player:
In Slovenia majority of people does not know much about Meshkov Brest, but we all know that this is an excellent team. Every year they are investing more and more in the club and handball in general. That is one of the reasons why they have such a good and numerous team. Their results talk for themselves, a few days ago they have managed to beat Rhein Neckar which proves their quality. We will face a strong opponent and we have to prepare for them as good as possible to be able to fight for points in Belarus.
