Telekom Veszprem looking to get back on winning track against Gorenje

A Telekom Veszprém szeretne visszatérni a győzelmi szériába

Telekom Veszprem

Telekom Veszprem and Gorenje Velenje will clash on Tuesday (18:00 CET) in another interesting SEHA Gazprom League face-off in Veszprem Arena. Hosts will look to get back on winning track after two defeats against PSG in just 10 days as they are still struggling to find the right form with tough schedule in all competitions constantly being a big burden on their shoulders.

However, team from Veszprem wants to keep a good record in SEHA Gazprom League, where Nagy, Ilic and Co. have six wins from seven matches. On the other side, Slovenian vice-champions Gorenje Velenje have officially ended their European season being knocked out of EHF Cup by Füchse Berlin (24:29, 32:29) but they can be satisfied with their second match against German side when they’ve managed to reach a win even without injured Ratajec, Mitrovic and Toskic.

Xavi Sabaté, Telekom Veszprem coach:
After the game against Paris Saint-Germain we are not really able to rest well enough and prepare for SEHA League clash against Gorenje Velenje. They have a good team but we are going to play at home where we must win in any case. We will have to show on Tuesday that we are a better team. Nothing else matters at this moment.

Péter Gulyás, Telekom Veszprem player:
Gorenje Velenje have so far this season managed to achieve several good results in SEHA League. They have real Slovenian playing style - running a lot and playing fast-flowing handball. Velenje have several good players who are very goodin one-on-one pieces. We must prepare for this. It will be hard to step on the court after losses against PSG but we must win at home.

Borut Plaskan, Gorenje Velenje coach:
Schedule is really rough but we cannot complain. We came back to Slovenia on Sunday and the next day we are going to Hungary. There we will prepare and practice for the game against Telekom Veszprem. Their team consists of excellent players so it won’t be easy. We’ve showed what we’re capable of in Berlin and hopefully we’ll show it again, especially with the help of our recovered players.

Nejc Cehte, Gorenje Velenje player:
We know how good our next rival is, we’re aware of their reputation. Match is coming fast and we did not have much time to rest. Our performance in Berlin wasn't enough to get through but we will try to show our best in SEHA Gazprom League matches as well.
