Meshkov Brest - Metalurg

Meshkov Brest did not drop any points against Metalurg winning the match comfortably with 31:26. Macedonians did their best to make the match narrow but aside from some good periods they were heavily outplayed with Meshkov looking to enlarge the gap early. They however did not manage to make it with Metalurg sticking close all the way until 9:9 with hosts finishing the half strong for 15:11. In the second half Metalurg were able to play a competitive match for about 10 minutes with Meshkov slowly running away after 18:16 all the way until final 31:26. Ostrushko and Kristopans were leading their team scoring 5 each and on the other side Obradovic netted 7, Taleski 6. Meshkov are now placed second with 23 points while Metalurg remain ninth with 8.

Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov coach:
Our line players didn't play well missing six chances. Maybe some players thought that this is going to be an easy match but Metalurg are progressing as I mentioned. In the second half our 5-1 defense was functioning well giving us an opportunity to score multiple counter-attack goals.

Simon Razgor, Meshkov player:
Metalurg have managed to deliver a good performance today but we’ve managed to fulfill our goal and win this. I was nervous today playing after a long break but I think it was OK. We hope to win other two games in December as well.

Aleksandar Jovic, Metalurg assistant coach:
I believe our team is getting better from match to match and I’d like us to continue that way. We’ve played well today all the way until five minutes before the end with some our technical mistakes deciding the match against us. Meshkov are a really good team full of quality players and I wish them all the best.

Nemanja Obradovic, Metalurg player:
First of all I want to congratulate Meshkov Brest. They were favorites today and able to stay in control throughout the whole encounter. We were not focused enough in the end allowing them to make the gap look bigger than it should have been.
