Victory remains the only option for Meshkov as they host NEXE

Победа – единственный вариант для БГК в матче с «Нексе»

Meshkov Brest - Nexe

In case Belarusian champions are eager to catch a place on SEHA Gazprom F4, and considering their goals and ambitions set before the season they are, they will have to reach a win in all three of their remaining regular season encounters. First one is scheduled for Tuesday (18.00 CET) at home against NEXE.

Three teams - Celje PL, PPD Zagreb and Meshkov, are still battling for two remaining F4 positions. This will be Meshkov’ final home match as they will in final two rounds travel to Velenje and Zagreb seeking key victories as well as hoping for other results to boost their chances and make it possible for them to catch a place on final tournament this year. Hosts are in good mood after a CL stunner against PICK Szeged and NEXE are on the other sire coming to Belarus without a victory-burden on their shoulders and especially after a narrow 28_27 home win against Gorenje last week.

Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov coach:
NEXE are the second strongest team in Croatia. They are playing very well at home. The team is consisted of young and ambitious players delivering good performances against favorites in SEHA League which is the main competition for them. Our team is ready for the game. We are in good mood after Saturday and a victory in EHF Champions League. Unfortunately we are still dealing with some injury problems and I’m not sure Shylovich and Jamali will be in our match roster for tomorrow.

Viachaslau Shumak, Meshkov player:
We remember the game in Nasice back in October and that loss. Now we’re ready to win. They are probably a bit more I’d say ‘fresh’ at the moment which might be their advantage in this one but our goal is to gather all three points in this match despite of everything.

Hrvoje Horvat, NEXE coach:
I expect Meshkov to be very careful because they must win if they want to play on SEHA Gazprom F4. On the other side, before I took the team over they’ve managed to celebrate against Meshkov. Our defense must not show spectators it’s Valentine’s day - we must be tough and solid. That is the only chance for us to take points home from this one. They are team consisted of whole lot of good international players so we’ll have to deliver a great performance in every aspect in order to beat them.

Mislav Nenadic, NEXE player:
Our confidence is quite high after the win against Gorenje. It’s always hard to play in Belarus against such a good rival and after a long trip. We’ve managed to beat them in our premier encounter of the season so they’ll surely seek revenge. However, we’ve already proved we don’t fear anyone so we’ll give our best and go for a win in this one as well.
