Vardar eager to keep on rewriting history books

Vardar

Vardar Skopje are the only team in SEHA - Gazprom League which still has a clean sheet score in league’s seventh season. They will surely, in a match against Dinamo Pancevo scheduled for Tuesday (17.45 CET) in their Jane Sandaski hall, look to prolong 12-game SEHA victory streak. Considering this season only, they so far have 12 victories from 13 matches in SEHA and Champions League combined with Hungarian Szeged being the only team able to achieve a draw against reigning both regional and European champs.

Match against Serbian vice-champions will surely serve Raul Gonzales and his team well ahead of two tough CL challenges against Rhein Neckar Löwen in upcoming two weeks. Only roster question in whether Luka Cindric will be ready or not after missing two games in a row due to a minor injury. Rogerio Moraes will after recovering from an injury make the match-day roster against the team from Pancevo as well as some younger ‘Red&Black’ players who might get a chance to show what they’re capable of.

Raul Gonzales, Vardar coach:
We’re entering the match a bit tired after CL clash in Zagreb only a few days ago. We don’t know much about our next opponents to be honest but even despite of that our goal remains the same - to keep on performing on highest possible level no matter who stands on the other side of the court. I expect my team to deliver a good performance.

Stojance Stoilov, Vardar player:
We’ll on Tuesday play a team which we do not know quite well. This is their rookie season but we respect everyone in this competition. We’re aware of the favourite role and I believe that, despite of the lack of time to prepare or rest, we shouldn’t experience problems in this one.

Ivan Petkovic, Dinamo coach:
Our next opponents are European champs Vardar. They managed to keep the form high from the last season and are once again playing really good. They did not lose a single match so far this season and I believe that says quite enough. They are one of Europe’s best teams at the moment and all I can say is that we’re honoured to play against such a rival. We’ve never played such a team in our history and that’s why we used this SEHA break to prepare winning in two friendly encounters. Vardar are absolute favorites but we’ll do our best to play a competitive match. Petar Zujovic is experiencing some back problems but he’ll be with the team in Macedonia.

Milan Mirkovic, Dinamo player:
We’ll play European champions but we’re going to play bravely. Our ultimate goal is to deliver a good performance on Tuesday.

Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, EHF TV, Sport TV (Slovenia) and MRT (Macedonia).
