Kamenica: ‘’Playing against Vardar, that’s the treat!’’

Kasim Kamenica

Vojvodina will on Saturday (13.00 CET) in what will be their last SEHA - Gazprom League home match of the season host reigning both European and SEHA champs Vardar. Kasim Kamenica and his players have two tough matches to play until the end of the regular part of the season as they will only three days after the match against ‘Red&Black’ meet Celje PL in Slovenia. And while it is on one hand really hard expect for them to snatch any more points playing against two highly-favored opponents, it is clear they might use these matches well in order to prepare better for what’s waiting for them in Serbian championship as well as Serbian Cup Final4 they’ll host on March 17 and 18 in their Slana bara sports hall.

Vardar will on the other hand clearly look to improve their form ahead of Champions League quarter-finals as well as keep the undefeated status in the regional competition.

Match will be broadcasted on ehf TV and Arena Sport channels.

Kasim Kamenica, Vojvodina coach:
This will be the second out of three matches we’ll play in only six days. We failed to take three points in the match against Tatran and now we’re waiting for European champs. Playing against the best, against Vardar, that’s the treat! What I expect from my players is for them to improve the tactical discipline.

Strahinja Stankovic, Vojvodina player:
I hope injured players will recover for this match. We’re playing better and better as we’re able to stay competitive for more and more minutes each match against some of the best teams in this league. I see Vardar as another chance for us to play a match in which we really can’t lose anything. Only thing we can gain from this match is experience and I’m surely we’ll know how to use it in matches to come.

Raul Gonzalez, Vardar coach:
This will be our final SEHA road game of the season and we want to approach it as seriously as we’ve approached all the other matches so far this season. We’ve already secured pole position for F4 but our goal is to remain undefeated as well. Vojvodina will surely be fully motivated, just like all the other teams when playing against us. They have good defense and perform even better in front of their fans but we’re favorites and we’ve got to prove that on the court.

Luka Cindric, Vardar player:
Match against Vojvodina will be a chance for players who usually don’t play as much to show what they’re capable of. Vojvodina are a good team and I believe each one of us will have to deliver in order to win. Match will be a good intro for SEHA League final tournament and Champions League quarter-finals. I expect a good one and hope no one will end up getting injured because that’s the most important thing right now.
