Vojvodina looking for 2/2 start as Tatran come to visit

Tatran

Surprising start of SEHA - Gazprom League’s eighth season brought a lot of positive emotions to Slana bara sports hall in Novi Sad. Last week Serbian champs started a new SEHA campaign with a dominant 27:20 win against Zeleznicar in Nis later signing two new players – experienced right winger Rajko Prodanovic as well as left back Milan Potpara. Club also decided to sign a three-year contract extension with coach Boris Rojevic and it’s clear moment couldn’t be better than it is for their first home-court match of the season in which they will on Wednesday (19.00 CET) welcome Tatran Presov. Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, Sport klub (Poland) as well as RTVS (Slovakia).

Boris Rojevic, Vojvodina coach:

We started the season quite well in Nis but we can’t afford ourselves to slow down now. Tough match against one of League’s strongest teams is ahead of us. Tatran have some extraordinary players and for our young roster this will be a huge opportunity and motivation to prove their worth.

Svetislav Verkic, Vojvodina goalkeeper:

I’ve played in Slovakia so I know how good of a club Tatran are speaking of organization. They are absolute favorites in this one but we most definitely won’t surrender in advance. In case we manage to catch a good rhythm like we did in Nis and minimize turnovers, we might have a solid chance to reach a positive result.

Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:

Difficult match is ahead of us against a team which always plays better at home. We’ll play without three important two-way players on Wednesday and that’s why I feel like Vojvodina are favorites in this one. Despite of that we’re traveling to Novi Sad with a goal to win the match and we’ll surely do everything we can in order to do that.

Janus Lapajne, Tatran Presov playmaker:

Tough match is ahead of us but we’ll surely be highly motivated after last week and a loss in Bucharest. I believe we can and will play better than in Romania and that we won’t have as many ups and downs in our game. I believe in our win.
