Goluza: ‘We respect Meshkov but fear no one!’

Goluza

After both teams managed to celebrate in their EHF Champions League openers last weekend, Meshkov and Tatran will surely look to stay in a good mood after their mutual encounter Brest will host on Tuesday (18.00 local time). Coach Manolo Cadenas understands the importance of the match which is why he decided to play with his strongest roster unlike in some previous matches when younger players got a chance to prove their worth.

Tatran are on the other hand playing quite well this season. After they almost managed to snatch a point against reigning SEHA champs nine days ago, they were during the weekend better than Besiktas away from home which clearly means coach Slavko Goluza and his players will be highly-motivated against one of League’s strongest teams at the moment on Tuesday. Will they manage to make another big step towards F4 placement or will Belarusian champs prove why they are given favorite role ahead of this one?

Manolo Cadenas, Meshkov coach:

An exciting match against a high-quality, Champions League bound team is ahead of us. Tatran perform well away from home which is why we’ll have to really deliver our best outing in order to achieve the result we want.

Vid Poteko, Meshkov player:

It is never easy to play Tatran, we remember our away loss from the start of the last season. Now we’ll face off in Brest and we’ll most definitely do our best not to disappoint our fans and win three points in the end.

Slavko Goluza, Tatran coach:

Yet another difficult match in Brest is ahead of us. We will surely be motivated and ready to go for the win. We respect Meshkov but also fear no one. Unfortunately, we are still dealing with injuries. Oliver Rabek is still not completely ready so we will have to mix the squad up once again.

Martin Stranovsky, Tatran player:

We will try to win the match like we always do no matter the fact who stands on the opposite side of the court. Our goal for the season is to try and win some points away from home and that’s the idea we’re going to Brest with.
