Brest out for second bronze, Nexe hope for first ever victory at Final 4

For the fourth time in a row, Meshkov Brest are part of a third place match at a SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 tournament. In 2017, they beat Zagreb on home ground, in 2016 (at Varazdin) they lost against Zagreb and 2018 (at Skopje) they were beaten by Celje. 

Now they have the chance on home ground to finish third again after their close 23:25 semi-final defeat against Vardar Skopje. Nexe are debutants at the Final 4 and had lost their semi against Zagreb 23:28.

In the regular season, both teams had funny enough won their away matches: Nexe by 30:25 at Brest and Meshkov 29:26 at Nasice. The third place match exactly reflects the final ranking of the regular season, as Nexe finished third and Meshkov ranked fourth. 

Best current scorers of both clubs are Halil Jaganjac with 77 strikes for Nexe and Darko Djukic by 57 goals for Meshkov. Both sides count on strong Croatian goalkeepers, who had been the each best players in the semis: Moreno Car (Nexe) and Ivan Pesic (Brest).
