EHFCL Round 7 preview: Meshkov Brest face Telekom Veszprem, Vardar to host PGE VIVE Kielce

The 7th round of VELUX EHF Champions League is in front of SEHA clubs. This round will feature a clash between well-known SEHA teams, Meshkov Brest and Telekom Veszprem. Reigning SEHA and European champions, Vardar will host PGE VIVE Kielce, while Motor Zaporozhye will host Montpellier HB. Besides Telekom Veszprem, away appearances are in front of Tatran Presov, PPD Zagreb and Eurofarm Rabotnik as well.

Bidasoa Irun – Tatran Presov (Group C)
The opening of the 7th round for SEHA clubs is reserved for the clash between Bidasoa Irun and Tatran Presov. Slovakian team will travel to Spain and on Saturday, 9th of November they will seek the chance for winning new points. This will be another tough away appearance for Slavko Goluza's squad who are currently placed on the 4th position in Group C. Their opponents are holding the top position on the table with 5 wins and one draw behind them. There is no doubt, after two back to back wins against Eurofarm Rabotnik in the previous rounds, Tatran have the confidence ahead of this match. On the other side, the 6th round was also victorious for Bidasoa Irun who were better than IK Savehof.

Vardar – PGE VIVE Kielce (Group B)
In another Saturday's clash, Vardar will host Polish team PGE VIVE Kielce. After two defeats, team from Skopje have returned to the winning track with the victory against Meshkov Brest in the previous round. It will be a tough clash between the teams that are placed one beneath the other on the table. Vardar are holding the 2nd position in Group B with 8 points, while Kielce are right behind them, on the 3rd position with only one point less. 

Meshkov Brest – Telekom Veszprem (Group B)
7th round of VELUX EHF Champions League will feature another interesting clash between SEHA clubs. In this one, Meshkov Brest will host Telekom Veszprem. With only one victory so far, Belarusian champions will be eager to take new points and improve their standings in the Group B as they are currently placed on the 7th position. On the other side, with 3 victories and 3 losses, Veszprem are now holding the 5th position. This won't be the first time for these teams to clash this season. They met two times already in the SEHA League and Hungarian champions came out victorious both times. But, this clash will be extra tough for Veszprem as they will play without their captain, Mate Lekai, who got injured in their most recent Champions League match against PGE VIVE Kielce.  

Sporting CP – Eurofarm Rabotnik (Group C)
Another away appearance is in front of Eurofarm Rabotnik who will face Sporting CP in Lisboa on Saturday. After two losses against Tatran Presov, team from Bitola will be looking for new points. This will be the second clash between these clubs this season. They already met in the first round, when Portugese team secured tight win with one goal difference.  This will be a great opportunity for Eurofarm Rabotnik to improve their standings in Group C as they are currently placed on the bottom of the table. Sporting CP are holding the 3rd place with 3 victories, one draw and 2 losses.

Motor Zaporozhye – Montpellier HB (Group B)
Motor Zaporozhye will continue their VELUX EHF Champions League journey with a clash against Montpellier HB. Ukrainian champions will host the French team on Sunday, 10th of November and will look for securing their first win of the season. So far, they have one draw and 5 losses behind them which place them on the bottom of the table in Group B. Montpellier, on the other side, have had their fair share of good results at the start of the season. They secured 3 victories so far – against Meshkov Brest, Telekom Veszprem and PGE VIVE Kielce. Besides that, they also have one draw and 2 losses behind them. 

Celje Pivovarna Lasko – PPD Zagreb (Group A)
PPD Zagreb will end the 7th round for SEHA clubs with a clash against Celje Pivovarna Lasko. Veselin Vujovic's squad will travel to Slovenia where they will seek a chance for securing the first victory of the season. In the previous round, Croatian champions had a perfect opportunity to do so but they ended up securing a draw against Elverum Handball. Celje Pivovarna Lasko faced defeat against MOL-Pick Szeged in the previous round, and they are currently placed on the 6th position in Group A. There is no doubt, this will be one of the most important clashes for PPD Zagreb this season where the victory will be an imperative for Croatian champions.
