Veszprem dominant against Metaloplastika

Veszprem - Metaloplastika

Telekom Veszprem have managed to extend their SEHA - Gazprom League winning streak defeating Serbian vice-champs Metaloplastika 36:29 at home.

It was from the very first moment obvious Mackovsek, Manaskov, Blagotinsek, Marguc and other star players have taken the guests seriously opening the gap to six (9:3) in opening ten minutes. Two minutes before the end of the first hosts were nine goals in front (20:11) having little to none problems dealing with Metaloplastika’s defense. In final two minutes, guests have managed to cut the gap to eight (22:14) although it was already back then obvious the deal has been sealed in this one.

Home-team coach David Davis decided to rotate his players a bit more in the second and motivated Metaloplastika knew how to take advantage of that playing in one of the most legendary handball arenas.

Todor Jandric (11 saves) and Milan Milic (seven goals) led their team’s mini comeback in the middle of the second during which they managed to narrow the gap to only five (30:25). Coach Vukovic even decided to give 16-year-old Matea Dodic a chance to prove what he’s capable of against one of Europe’s strongest teams and youngster used the opportunity he was given in the best possible way netting two goals.

Yahia Omar, Dragan Gajic and Andreas Nilsson finished the game with six each for Veszprem in what was their sixth SEHA triumph of the season (6-1). This was, on the other hand, fifth loss for Metaloplastika who are now 2-5.
