Metaloplastika eager to take revenge against Eurofarm in legendary Zorka hall

Aleksandar Babic

After delivering a solid resistance against Telekom Veszprem (29:36), Serbian vice-champs Metaloplastika will try to take revenge against Eurofarm Rabotnik. Stevce Alusovski and his players managed to defeat Metaloplastika at home in their premier encounter of the season and will definitely be looking to do the same on the road on Saturday, 13.00 CET.

Young and motivated Serbian side on the other hand has nothing to lose and is fully focused on this competition which is more than enough of a reason to believe we’re all up to a great one. Make sure not to miss the derby of two vice-champions which will be broadcasted on Arena Sport (in Croatia), Arena Sport (in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia) as well as Sport TV (in Slovenia).

Veselin Vukovic, Metaloplastika coach:
We are slowly starting to realize that with tremendous level of hard work and motivation we are able to cope with way bigger and stronger teams. I hope fans will be there for us on Saturday. Fatigue is becoming a problem due to a rough schedule but other teams are dealing with it as well – for example, Eurofarm will probably be coming directly here after their Champions League clash in Finland. Whoever manages to refresh the team more efficiently will have a slight advantage in this one. We know Rabotnik have a good, serious team but I believe that in case we repeat second-half performance from Veszprem we might be able to reach a good result. We’ll do our best to win the match and present ourselves in the best possible way.

Borivoje Dukic, Metaloplastika player:
Eurofarm have a good team with solid, experienced players, good individuals. It is up to us to do our best, follow instructions coach gives us, play as a team and be patient. Defense has to be aggressive and in case our fans come and give us support everything will be easier and I believe we might be able to reach points.

Stevce Alushovski, Eurofarm Rabotnik coach:
It is not easy to play three matches in six days and travel more than 3,500 kilometers but we are ready for the match in Sabac. They have a young, motivated team which will be ready for us as well. However, we want an away win since we consider this to be one of our key matches. I have to add it always feels great to go back to Sabac and play in this legendary sports hall.

Mirko Radovic, Eurofarm Rabotnik player:
Metaloplastika are always stronger on their court playing with a lot of energy and with many young players. Our goal is however to win the match and I think defense will be the key. If we manage to deliver on the defensive side of the court we’ll have a solid chance to take points back home.
