Razgor: “Goal is to take revenge for the loss in Sabac!“

Simon Razgor

With two rounds left to play until the end of the Group Phase of SEHA Gazprom League season, Meshkov Brest are still in race for the second place in Group B which would secure them quarter-finals ticket. To fulfill their goal they have to celebrate in their final two encounters. First one is scheduled for Tuesday (19.15 local time) at home against Metaloplastika and the final one will be played in Croatian capital against PPD Zagreb.

Hosts are without doubts big favorites in this one despite of the fact which team they’ll decide to go out there with on Tuesday. Due to a rough schedule they often play SEHA - Gazprom League matches with a combined roster but we’ll see whether they’ll decide to do it that way once again since these two wins are now a must for Belarusian champs in case they want to book a direct quarter-finals ticket for themselves.

First encounter between the two teams this season was quite historic with Mikita Vaiulupau finishing the match with 20 for Meshkov while Dukic on the other hand scored 15 for Metaloplastika. Serbian vice-champs managed to deliver a great performance winning that one 35:33 and that’s one of three wins they managed to reach so far this season.

Raul Alonso, Meshkov Brest coach:
Goal is to travel to Zagreb for the final regular season round knowing that if we beat Zagreb in their home we’ll book a quarter-finals ticket for ourselves. To do that we’ll on Tuesday have to defeat Metaloplastika who have a young and talented team. We’ve delivered a good performance in Mogilev and now it’s important to recover and once again hit the road in full strength.

Simon Razgor, Meshkov Brest player:
We need points in this one as coach said in order to keep our hopes alive before Zagreb. We failed to win in Sabac and now we want revenge!

Veselin Vukovic, Metaloplastika coach:
I believe Meshkov will play with their best roster looking to take revenge for the loss in Sabac. We are in good mood and ready, we've been waiting for this one for two weeks now. I hope we'll deliver a solid outing and perform well because we'll only three days later welcome Veszprem in Sabac.

Dejan Babic, Metaloplastika player:
Match ahead of us will be completely different than the one we've played in Sabac against the same opponent earlier this season. We're not dealing with any injuries which is why I'm expecting a good match in which we'll deliver solid resistance. I think we might be able to surprise them.
