Vardar managed to start 2021 in the best possible way coming out on top versus Serbian champions Vojvodina Novi Sad. In the end it was 25:21 an eleventh win for the ‘Red&Black’ versus Vojvodina.

It was from the very first minute clear hosts are taking full bags in this one as they were able to control the encounter from the first whistle. Nemanja Pribak delivered a very good offensive performance in the first but it was not enough for guests to endanger favored Macedonians.

Vardar couldn’t count on Ivan Cupic and Patryk Walczak while Timur Dibirov scored only from the seven-meter line actually playing a little over five minutes this time only because Dimitar Dimitrioski got injured. Both coaches used the opportunity to provide all of their players with a chance to play in this one in order to catch the right rhythm for what lies ahead. Vojvodina managed to cut the lead to three (20:17) with a little over 15 minutes left until the final buzzer but Vardar proved to be simply way too experienced to let the lead slip. Unfortunately for their teams Christian Dissinger and Jovica Nikolic weren’t able to finish the match due to injuries and we still have to see how serious the situation is with both of them.

Goce Georgievski and Timur Dibirov led Vardar with four each while Mladen Sotic netted six for Vojvodina.

In the next round Vardar will in a few days welcome Nexe and Vojvodina will travel to Ukraine to meet Motor Zaporozhye.
