Vida: "The goal is to take revenge in Zaporozhye!"

motor - nexe

Zaporozhye will on Saturday (17.00 local time) host the first match of SEHA Saturday with Nexe visiting home team Motor. In what will surely be a great match both teams will look to come out victorious and make a big step forward towards finishing the regular part of the season on top of Group A. At the moment Motor, Nexe and Vardar 1961 have nine points each which means last few matches will decide everything. In their premier encounter of the season Motor celebrated a seven-goal win away from home which will surely serve as motivation to coach Tamse and his guys who are in a good run of form at the moment as they managed to reach a draw in the European League match a few days ago against one of the strongest German teams Rhein-Neckar Löwen. Ukrainians were on the other side on Wednesday better than Meshkov Brest at home in the first leg of EHF Champions League Round of 16 and it will be interesting to see which team will manage to keep up the tempo of solid outings and celebrate on Saturday.

Match will be broadcasted on Sport 1 (Ukraine) and Arena Sport (Croatia).

Gintaras Savukinas, Motor Zaporozhye coach:

We’ll have to find a way to prepare in the best possible way as well as give some of our key players a bit more additional time to rest after the Champions League clash. Match is very important for us, it is a fight for the first place in the group after the regular part of the season which makes everything slightly easier in the knock-out phase. Nexe is a very serious rival, they are displaying really good performances lately doing well with new coach in charge. They have two of the best scorers of the competition so far which is yet another proof of how dangerous they are. We’ll have to prepare really well.

Zakhar Denisov, Motor Zaporozhye player:

Unfortunately, we lost our last two SEHA League matches and we’ll do our best to get back on the winning tracks at home against Nexe. We’ll give our best just like we did against Brest. We are aware of how important this game is and I assure you we’ll give our best to reach a victory on Saturday.

Branko Tamse, Nexe coach:

I’d like to once again congratulate my players on everything they’ve showed in this season’s EHF European League. We’re now turning towards new challenges travelling to Ukraine to play Motor on Saturday. We’ll be without some players but I’m sure those who will be available to play will show what they’re capable of. Motor has a high-quality team but we’ll give our best and hope for the best possible outcome.

Ivan Vida, Nexe player:

Schedule we’re dealing with is obviously quite busy but this is the best part of the season when you’re playing tough, important matches every few days. Only a few days after the duel in Germany we’re turning towards the game against Motor in which we’ll try to take revenge for the defeat we suffered against them at home. We’ve proved we can pay against anyone.
