Telekom Veszprem against Barlinek Industria Kielce in the MOTW

After a dominant win in the play-offs against their biggest rival in the Hungarian Championship – Pick Szeged, Telekom Veszprem are ready for the Maschineseeker EHF Champions League quarter-finals. The match against Barlinek Industria Kielce is marked as the Match of the week of the first leg quarter-final encounters.
 
The two teams know each other pretty well since they met several times over the past few seasons. The most recent encounter was at the EHF FINAL4 2022 when Kielce won 37:35. The first leg match is scheduled for Thursday, 11 May at 18:45 CEST in Hungary, while the second leg match will be played a week later, on Thursday, 18 May in Poland.
 
On their way to the EHFCL quarter-finals, Veszprem played against Paris Saint-Germain Handball, FC Porto, Dinamo Bucuresti, GOG, SC Magdeburg, PPD Zagreb and Orlen Wisla Plock in the group phase and Pick Szeged in the play-offs. On the other hand, Kielce played in the group against HBC Nantes, Barca, Aalborg Handbold, THW Kiel, Celje Pivovarna Lasko, Pick Szeged and Elverum Handball. Since they finished second in group B they directly qualified to the quarter-finals.
 
Telekom Veszprem’s top scorers are Rasmus Lauge (79 goals), Yehia Elderaa (46 goals) and Gasper Marguc (42 goals). When it comes to Kielce, Arkadiusz Moryto has 83 goals, Alex Dujshebaev follows him with 46 goals and Artsem Karalek with 45 scored goals.
 
In other matches, GOG will play against Barca, THW Kiel against Paris Saint-Germain Handball and Orlen Wisla Plock against SC Magdeburg.
