Vardar’s players will have two week break in SEHA GSS League with a goal of eight unbeaten games behind them winning the match against Tatran Prešov 32:26 and ending their opponent's streak of 12 games without a loss.

This was Vardar's first home win against Tatran in three season which has brought them League's position two with 21 points. Tatran is third with 12 points and three defeats this season.

Game was decided early in the first half with hosts reaching 18:12 lead,   showing superiority against Slovak champions. Coach Gonzalez has managed to give some of his most important players time to rest with those who do not get so many chances showing they can be useful in the part of the season still in front of them. They were keeping the difference easily even reaching 25:16 20 minutes before the end.

Šterbik was great with 10 saves in the first half, Angelov had 7 in the second. In the battle of two of League's best scorers Timur Dibirov came out as a winner scoring 11 goals. Kristopans scored 8.

Peter David , Tatran’s coach

Vardar deserved victory. We've had great respect for the rival, maybe more than we should. Vardar is still a team which plays in the EHF Champions League. We have to practice more, and work harder, if we want to reach some more serious results in the future. It is also important to give players some time to rest in order for them to be better in the second  part of the season.

Lukas Urban, Tatran’s player

The starting dfference of 6 goals was crucial for Vardar, and they’ve  deserved to win. Too bad it happened, this would have been an interesting match. Great saves from Šterbik were also decisive, it is really hard to play against them.

Raul Gonzalez, Vardar’s coach

We are pleased with the performance we’ve shown, it was important to win and score three points. Now we are second on League’s table, Tatran is third, but with a big difference in points. We've started with a good defense, goalkeepers played well, both Šterbik and Angelov. Before the game I was a little afraid because our rivals have such good back players. It is not easy to play such tough games in series.

Alem Toskić, Vardar’s player

We’ve played really well, especially in defense, Arpad Šterbik was outstanding and it was normally easier to play with him in such a good mood. After their two wins in Skopje, we’ve finally managed to beat them, third luck.
