Zagreb confident against Radnički

Zagreb siguran protiv Radničkog

PPD Zagreb - Radnicki 6 (14/15)

Multiple Croatian champions PPD Zagreb have as a part of SEHA GSS League's round 7 hosted current Serbian champions Radnički from Kragujevac. In front of about 200 fans hosts were in 'Matchbox' sports hall better with 27:18.

Hosts have opened the match better reaching 3:0 advantage after only 5 minutes. Guests have than woken up a bit making 0:4 series and forcing Zagreb's coach Vujović to call a time-out. After that time-out Zagreb was, until the end of the first half playing like they know and can. Brozović and Mihić were great scoring three goals each being, along with Stevanović who had 8 saves main reasons for Zagreb's +5 advantage after first 30 minutes.

In the second half Zagreb has proved that they are at the moment a much better team than Radnički slowly enlarging the goal difference until final +9 (27:18). Zagreb's defence was once again functioning great with Stevanović behind them who was in really great mood today with 16 saves. Coach Vučković was doing everything, rotating the team but there was no answer in Radnički's team on Zagreb's defence and fast counter attacks led by Mihić and Brozović. On the other side, Zagreb's coach Vujović has used such a big goal difference to give chance to players who play less but as well give others some time to rest to be better prepared for tough matches behind them.

Brozović was Zagreb's best scorer with 5 goals, Mihić and Pavlović added 4. Rajičević was on the other side guest team's best scorer with 4 goals, Tomić added 3.

Nedeljko Vučković, Radnički' coach:

We've known where we are coming and who we're going to play against. It is visible that we're a bit tired and that we need some time to rest. Zagreb was playing great, especially in the second half with their 6-0 defence which as completely destroyed our attack. Challenge Cup is ahead of us, we have to prepare well...

Bogdan Medurić, Radnički's player:

Better team has won today, physically better prepared. Now we have a pause ahead of us which we have to use in the best possible way to rest and prepare for tough matches ahead of us.

Veselin Vujović, PPD Zagreb's coach:

We've known it won't be easy against Radnički today, especially because of many injured players. Stevanović was in really good mood, we've used counter attacks well and controlled the match until the end. Discipline in defence was on a good level although we've, I repeat, missed some of our most important players.

Mario Vuglač, PPD Zagreb's player:

We've played quality defence today. Radnički really is a good team, they have showed it today especially in the first half but we've already said that no one is favorite in Zagreb but us.
