Tatran chasing a miracle against Vardar

Vardar - Tatran Prešov 10 (14/15)

After playing in Germany in CL and in Kragujevac in SEHA GSS LeagueVardar will today play in Prešov against Tatran. Theory says that Tatran might catch Vardar with a +7 win followed with Vardar's losses until the end of the season and Tatran's wins. But, that is hard to expect. However, this result is important for Zagreb and Meshkov in a battle for third place with Slovaks.

Peter David, Tatran's coach:

Vardar Skopje are a clear favorites but despite of this we would like to play openly against them and make them struggle as much as possible. Also we would like to profit from our home court advantage although we have had some changes in our roster.

Radovan Pekar, Tatran's player:

We know it will be a very difficult game for us and that is why we have to play well in defence. Hopefully we will be able to surprise. I am looking forward to this clash in Tatran Handball Arena.

Raul Gonzales, Vardar's coach:

After the win against Radnički, we know that we have opportunity to secure second position, if we win again in Prešov. We will give our best to achieve it. Tatran Prešov are a good team, especially at the home and we need right approach to the game, which I expect to be very tough. We will play without one of the best defensive players Abutović who got injured yesterday, but we have roster full of players that know how to face a challenge.

Petar Angelov, Vardar's goalkeeper:

We have some injured players that will be absent tomorrow, but we have to think positive way. We have to play with our maximum strength, because Vardar is a team which is always looking for a win, so I expect the same approach on Saturday. I agree with my coach that Tatran is very good team, fully motivated in front of their fans, but I believe that we have enough quality to win there.
