Meshkov win in Skopje – Metalurg once again without Final tournament

Мешков победи во Скопје, Металуг пак без Ф4 завршница

Metalurg - Meshkov Brest 6 14/15

With big 26:17 victory Belarus champions have in Skopje once again confirmed position 3 after the regular part of the season leaving current Macedonian champions without ticket for League's Final tournament in Veszprem. This was Macedonian team's last train for Hungary which means that this loss has opened door for Croatian vice-champions NEXE and their first Final tournament although they still have to play in Banja Luka against Borac!

Metalurg have opened the game better, with 4:2 lead but that was it from them. Meshkov have managed to make huge 6:0 series leaving Macedonians without goal for more than 10 minutes and deciding the match before the half-time whistle. Less than 15 minutes before the end Belarus team has reach +9 keeping it until the end.

Željko Babić, Meshkov’s coach

I want to thank my players for a good engagement in terms of motivation during the game. We have already ensured third place in SEHA GSS with this match not meaning much for us. That's what makes me even happier, that they have despite of thet performed on such a good level. We now have to prepare well and wait for Final tournament in best possible physical condition.

Ljubo Vukić, Meshkov’s player

We are a better team than Metalurg at this moment and it was clear from the beginning. However, in the first match in Brest they've proved us that we can not win without 100 percent commitment. Now we've played better and managed to reach triumph a bit easier.

Lino Červar, Metalurg’s coach

Today we were shorthanded playing without Taleski, Neloski and Stojanović which was well visible. However, SEHA GSS season is obviously over for us and we have to prepare for domestic challenges waiting for us in about 20 days.

Borjan Madžovski, Metalurg’s player

This was probably our worst match since this young team is playing together and Meshkov have used it well. I wish them all the best in Veszprem.
