Final 4 TATRAN Final tournament might change whole picture

Comparing it with the last one, this season was not so good for Tatran from Prešov. Last season Slovak champions were competing in EHF's Cup reaching second place in regional competition with 45 points. This season they were however not able to reach EHF Cup's group stage and have won only 33 points in regular part of SEHA season. They have probably expected a bit more of themselves but truth is Tatran are SEHA's constant and big value for this League.

Season has started with coach change and Peter David replacing Peter Hatalčik. Mihal Kopčo and Vasja Furlan have returned, Žarko Pejović decided to leave. They have become a bit tougher squad but considering results there was no true step forward. Plus is victory in Zagreb (21:25) and big minus is loss in Banja Luka (30:37) after beating Borac with remarkable +22 in Slovakia. Injuries were a big problem. They were forced to wait for Rabek to recover, Furlan got injured, Verkić was absent for a long time and in the end they have lost their giant Dainis Kristopans who was amazingly important for their game being League's best scorer last season with 114 goals.

However, although this season was not the best they once again have best scorer - this time Radoslav Antl with 96 goals from 18 matches. Kristopans follows with 70.

In little semis in Veszprem (Wednesday 20.15 CET) they will play against PPD Zagreb which they have this season managed to beat twice. That is a chance for picture to become better because we must not forget that in League's first season they were second, last season first and that they have managed to reach League's Final tournament twice already with this being their third appearance. Will it be third luck, we shall see.
