Metalurg for the first time this season without Velkovski in Novi Sad

Metalurg - Vojvodina

In the last match of SEHA Gazprom League Round 9, Vojvodina will on Thursday (17.00 CET) host Macedonian vice-champions Metalurg. Match won’t be easy for either team as they are both dealing with some injury problems but are at the same time aware that each point matters. Serbian champs are doing a bit better for now with nine points while Metalurg have four.  Matches between two opponents are always quite narrow and interesting so make sure to tune in on Arena Sport channels, Sport TV (Slovenia), Sport klub (Poland), Sport TV (Iceland) and Macedonian MRT.

Boris Rojevic, Vojvodina coach:
Metalurg have been a part of Champions League for years now and they even managed to reinforce their team a bit lately. Tough match is ahead of us for several reasons. First of all, we’ve been playing in a quite rough rhythm for the last two weeks and second, as a result of a tight schedule, we have many injured players at the moment as we already know we won’t be able to count on five of them in this one. Despite of everything, expect players who make the matchday roster to give their best out there.

Dusko Celica, Vojvodina player:
I expect this to be a tough game but I also expect us to come out victorious. We’re always trying to play with that mindset regardless of problems we’re dealing with at the moment. I feel like the atmosphere in the team is extraordinary and I’d like to use the opportunity to invite fans to come and support us.

Danilo Brestovac, Metalurg coach:
This will be a real test for our young team. Vojvodina have a good team which plays hard in defense and solid in attack. We must make some conclusions after this match and decide what to do after Velkovski’s injury earlier this month.

Bojan Madzovski, Metalurg player:
Four matches in ten days are ahead of us and the first will be the one we’ll play against Vojvodina. It won’t be easy but we’ll clearly look to deliver s solid outing and see whether we’ll in the end manage to capitalize on that and win some points. Martin Velkovski got injured a few weeks ago and we won’t be able to count on him for the rest of the season but we’ll fight for him every time we step out there.
