Skube and Milosavljev save the day for Vardar in Slovakia

Tatran

In the first match of SEHA Sunday Vardar managed to reach a tough 27:26 away win against Tatran after Skube proved himself clutch scoring his first of the day in the final minute of the encounter to put his team one goal up eventually deciding the match in favor of ‘Red&Black’.

Guests were three goals up after the first half (10:13) with Kristopans leading their offense scoring four goals while Milosavljev on the other hand added seven saves. It was however from the very first minute clearly visible this was not going to be an easy win for reigning regional champs and one of the best European teams with hosts looking highly motivated to deliver a solid performance and try to surprise favored opponents, just as coach Goluza said in the pre-game press conference.

Guests were able to keep the gap open in the first part of the second but as the match was coming to a close Tatran started narrowing it down until they reached only -1 a little more than five minutes prior to the final whistle (23:24). Three minutes before the end Tomas Cip even leveled the whole thing at 25:25. Slavko Goluza and his players even had 26:26 but then Vardar’ summer reinforcement Stas Skube scored his first of the day to put his team in front. Hosts had one final chance to level the match and take at least a point but Dejan Milosavljev was once again on the right place making his 14th save of the match and sealing the deal in this one.

Lukas Urban led his team with nine while Borozan on the other hand netted six. Karacic shined with five from just as many attempts, Kristopans added four.
