Prodanovic: ’We mustn’t lose focus in Bucharest like we did against Tatran!’

Vojvodina

After a few wins to open the season in both SEHA - Gazprom League (against Tatran Presov) and EHF Cup (versus Varazdin), Steaua Bucuresti have on Tuesday suffered the first defeat of the season falling seven goals short in Zagreb after they clearly slowed down in the second half due to fatigue. That means coach Ovidiu Mihaila will have to find the right way to give his players some rest but also play smart in order to reach a desired outcome in Bucharest on Thursday (18.15 local time) when they will host Vojvodina Novi Sad.

Vojvodina on the other hand opened the season in a great way reaching a dominant 20:27 away win against Zeleznicar but after that coach Boris Rojevic and his players experienced a tough 17:27 loss at home versus Tatran Presov.

Will they be able to take advantage of the fact Steaua are clearly dealing with quite a harsh schedule at the moment or will only Romanian SEHA representatives remain unbeaten at home?

Oividu Mihaila, Steaua Bucuresti coach:

Vojvodina have a very strong team which we’ve seen in Doboj. It will be a tough match for us, I’d like to highlight their defense and goalkeeper Verkic. This will on the other hand be our third match in only five days so we’ll have to try really hard in order to enter the match fully prepared and focused. I hope fans will be there for us on Thursday.

Alin Rosu, Steaua Bucuresti player:

This is our rookie SEHA season and we’ll do everything we can each time we step out there to win matches. I believe in this team but also feel like Vojvodina have a solid team. I hope we’ll deliver the best possible outing and reach another victory.

Boris Rojevic, Vojvodina coach:

We’ll on Thursday play one of League rookies and a team which is doing a great job lately – Steaua Bucharest. We know a lot about them from Doboj tournament and I’m sure it will be a tough match. Good thing for us is that we’ll be able to count on Potpara and Ratkovic in this one.

Rajko Prodanovic, Vojvodina player:

We’ve played really bad in our last outing against Tatran failing to score from some clear looks. We all need to be completely focused, especially because of the fact we have a young team and can’t really rely on our experience. We’ve spent some time analyzing Steaua and their style. I can say I expect a good game against a quality team.
