Brestovac: ‘Good chance for us to take the first win of the season’

Brestovac

With five regular-season rounds behind them so far this season, Macedonian vice-champions Metalurg are still dreaming about their premier victory in the competition. They see a great chance to achieve that in a match scheduled for Wednesday (20.15 CET) when they will host Zeleznicar Nis. Guests are however coming to Skopje in a good mood after they reached their premier win in the last round defeating Izvidjac Ljubuski and they also signed experienced Serbian winger Dobrivoje Markovic who will most definitely be a reinforcement for Veselin Vujovic and his team. Markovic is a player coach Vujovic definitely likes to work with as he already coached him in Vardar and PPD Zagreb.

Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, MRT (Macedonia) and Sport klub (Poland).

Danilo Brestovac, Metalurg coach

We respect our rivals but I feel like this is a good chance for us to play well and finally reach the first win this season. We are a little tired with two away Champions League matches behind us but we’ve been analysing our most recent performances well and we believe this will help us in matches to come.

Nikola Danilovski, Metalurg player

We’re highly focused on this match and our goal is to reach a good result because we really see this match as the one in which we could finally reach our premier win this season and I can promise on behalf of players that we’ll do our max to do that. We’re not underestimating our opponents but have a strong motive to end this bad series we found ourselves in.

Veselin Vujovic, Zeleznicar coach

We've had a couple of free weeks we used to raise our form as both individuals and a team and make progress in order to be better in match ahead of us. Match against a Champions League team is ahead of us, a young roster with a lot of creative and tough players to play against, especially at home. Their results this season may not be the best but they are playing quality, attractive handball this season.

Vladimir Jevtic, Zeleznicar player

Win against Izvidjac is behind us - win which we waited so long for and it would be great if we could keep up that good rhythm. We're going to Skopje to play a good match against Metalurg and of course see if we can win it. We used last few weeks to prepare well for what's ahead and I feel like we'll have a chance to win the match in Skopje.
