Telekom Veszprem in need of recovery win against Meshkov Brest

Telekom Veszprem

Telekom Veszprem will play very important match in front of home fans against Meshkov Brest on Saturday, 5th of October at Veszprem Arena. After two defeats in clashes against THW Kiel and Montpellier in the EHF Champions League and surprising loss in Bitola against Eurofarm Rabotnik, this will be the first chance to get out of the loop of defeats for Hungarian champions.

On the other side, Meshkov Brest are coming to Veszprem without pressure after defeat in Sabac against Metaloplastika 35:33, where young players led by assistant coach Andrey Mochalov played a very good match. It will be remembered for Mikita Vailupau's record, 20 goals scored in a single match.

This match will be streamed on Arena Sport (in Croatia), Arena Sport (in Slovakia), Spiler (in Hungary), BLR TV (in Belarus), VKontakte (in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus) and ehfTV.

David Davis, Telekom Veszprem coach:
We know that Meshkov Brest are coming with the second team because of complicated matches in their league. We do not have information of who, or how they are going to play. Only two or three players who play in the first team regularly will come. We are playing at home, and we just need to win. We are going to prepare for the match as best as we can, but it is hard when you do not have a reference of against who will you play.

Mirsad Terzic, Telekom Veszprem player:
I think that for us every match is important, especially in the situation that we are in. We need to make a step forward from what has been happening in these strange ten days. We need every minute of the match to show what we can really do. I know, and the team knows as well, that this is not our maximum that we showed in the recent matches.

Andrey Mochalov, Meshkov Brest assistant coach:
We expect a tough match. Veszprem lost three matches in a row and want to reedem themselves in front of home fans, but we are going to give our maximum. We won’t be a whipping boys for sure. We will try to start well, and then the rest of the match we will see how will it turn out.

Mikita Vailupau, Meshkov Brest player:
The Hungarian champions play powerfully and dynamically. We are underdogs in this match, but at the same time we will not be under pressure. And in this situation, everyone in our team is able to show their best qualities. And then we can enjoy individual and team actions.
